Dog and cat nutrition
What’s for dinner?

At Active Pet we will work with you to devise an optimal plan for your dog or cat to meet their nutritional needs and satisfy their appetite whether it be large or discerning!  Like us your pets’ needs change with activity, age and illness and it is important to adapt their caloric and nutritional needs accordingly.  It may be that your dog or cat may need a change of diet temporarily while they are injured and can go back to their usual food once they have recovered but sometimes a permanent change of diet is needed. We are able to take into account your pet’s age, weight and nutritional requirements and recommend the most appropriate menu for them and exactly how much to feed them.

We are also able to advise on the use of nutraceuticals, such as glucosamine, chondroitin and omega fatty acids and whether they would be of benefit and suitable for your cat or dog.

Clinical studies have shown that it is possible to reduce inflammation and progression of some diseases through nutrition so this is a very important area to take into account whether you have an older, injured or very active dog or cat.
